Inspiration in Action
The Kilcock Men’s Shed Choir is growing strong and steady since it’s inaugural performance in April 2015 where they were surprise guests at their own fundraiser.
The choir formed officially for the 2016 concert, and with assistance from the community and funding from the Kildare Arts Council, they recorded their first album in late 2016, with their composed song Sands of Time reaching No.1 in the Irish charts.
We sing a mix of different styles, accompanied by the band of Michael White on electric guitar and Tommy on acoustic. We recently lost our dear friend and bass player Dermot White, but he’s carried in our musical hearts.
These men are an incredible group. They have done head-line concerts, charity events, nursing-home gigs, a flashmob in Permanent TSB headquarters, and of course the incredible theatre show, Abair Sama, which was one of the highlights of the Bealtaine Festival in 2019. You can read more about Abair Sama here.
