SUSO’s Dare to Sing Festival Returns for its 5th Year…
The much-loved Dare to Sing Choral Festival is back! Hosted by SUSO, this annual event promises a weekend brimming with love, creativity, talent, laughter, and joy. Celebrating its fifth edition, the festival offers two days of showcases, performances, workshops, and community building, perfect for forging new friendships and creating lasting memories.
This year’s festival brings together an extraordinary lineup of local and international facilitators, each bringing their unique expertise and passion to inspire singers of all levels.
Returning favorites Craig Lees and Declan Davies, the dynamic duo from Leeds Conservatoire, will once again join forces to deliver high-energy large choir sessions in pop, rock, and contemporary styles, centring around a brand-new arrangement crafted especially for participants. Award-winning gospel singer and choir leader Carla Jane will ignite the room with her powerful gospel workshop, blending vibrant music with the uplifting energy of community singing. From Brazil, acclaimed vocal producer and performer Wagner Barbosa will lead a dynamic session on Rhythm for Singers, exploring how beats, voices, and movement combine to bring music alive. We are also thrilled to welcome back Ruaidhrí Ó Dálaigh, celebrated director of The Ramparts and other award-winning choirs, who will specialise in barbershop singing for men and close harmony for women. Musical theatre star Charley White, known for her stage and screen performances, will bring her wealth of experience to a choreography workshop designed to enhance performance skills for singers and choirs alike. And finally, our very own Eimear Crehan, festival host and founder of SpeakUp SingOut, will lead inspiring sessions in creative development — helping singers overcome nerves, embrace freedom, and take the next step on their artistic journey.
