SuSo – Supporting our Community Online

We are living in an unprecedented time.  Never before in the history of the world has every nation come together to support a common goal.  We are being asked to care for our most vulnerable by staying at home and withdrawing from our usual societal norms.  And in this, we are learning to connect with our community in new and profound ways.

So how is the SuSo community transforming at this time?  Our voices are still strong!  Our music is still powerful.  Our community is thriving and the love we witness every day is overwhelmingly beautiful.

Tiny boxes

We are meeting each other now online, seeing our faces on small boxes, sharing joy, laughing, singing together, albeit muted!  But we are singing together.  We committed to providing the choral programs from the Spring term online, and after Easter, we will continue to do the same.  We are growing as singers, challenging ourselves to sing without the safety net of others singing in our ears.  We are choosing joy in this time, clicking on the Zoom link and getting our ‘choral fix’ online.

Individual Tuition

Where possible, we are continuing with one-to-one tuition through the online platforms.  We are not taking on any new students at this time, but current students can be in touch with their teachers for more information.

Music Exams

Many of the examining boards are offering the option of online exam submission.  For students who don’t feel comfortable submitting recordings online, it is possible to re-schedule their exams for later in the year.  Your teacher will be in touch if you are registered for exams in the coming months.

Sharing Music

Eimear has shared 2 concerts online via facebook live.  These concerts have been a real joy for the community, as Eimear shared her beautiful music for the community at large.

Quarantine Choir

Eimear is offering a family based quarantine choir on Sundays, allowing whole families to tune in and sing together in joy!  For more information on this choir, please contact Eimear on 086 1757636 / speakupsingout@yahoo.com

Operation Transformation – Keeping Well Apart

Eimear was delighted to be working on the RTE show Operation Transformation special,  highlighting the power of music for transformation and connection, and proving our belief that everyone can sing!  It airs on Wednesday 15th April – if you miss it, you can catch up on the RTE player and be inspired and proud!

So folks, remember that we are committed to supporting you to continue growing as musicians and singers.  We are going to have a wild party when we can meet again in person  –  a huge concert of joyful connection!
