Heads Up High
February 10, 2018 @ 7:30 pm - 10:30 pm
SUSO are so delighted and excited to bring the High Hopes Choir back to Kilcock for another fantastic concert. After the roaring success of our concert two years ago with this amazing group of inspiring people, we are really looking forward to putting on another fantastic show. The High Hopes choir was formed by Ireland’s world-renowned conductor, David Brophy. He set out to help people who are homeless and change their lives through music. As well as numerous TV appearances, the choir have performed for President Michael D Higgins at a garden party in Áras an Uachtaráin, at the European Parliament in Brussels, and at Ireland’s largest music festival, Electric Picnic, alongside world famous bands such as Blur.
The Choir is an independent entity which operates in Dublin, Waterford and Cork and has been supported by the staff, volunteers and customers of a wide range of homeless organisations including Focus Ireland, Dublin Simon Community, St. Vincent de Paul and Penny Dinners.
Kilcock Community Choir are in their third year and have really enjoyed their time so far with lots of local events and a trip to Stormont to perform with the Harlandic Male Voice Choir in 2017. As well as working with the High Hopes choir, this year will see them work with the Route 66 big band and do their own theatre show in the Moat later this year.
Also featuring this year is the SUSO Youth Choir, a fantastic group of young people who have released their own album and played all over Ireland including at festivals Vantastival and Canalaphonic. This year sees them travel to Prague to perform and compete in the Young Bohemia Music Festival.
This is a night not to be missed!!
